Hedy Herrick began her second career as a practitioner of Chinese medicine in New York City after completing a four-year Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego and New York City. While there, Hedy ran a successful private acupuncture and herbology practice in Manhattan while also working at a community acupuncture clinic in Brooklyn. She gained invaluable experience treating a diverse population of patients with a wide range of health conditions. After relocating to Massachusetts, Hedy met Libby and immediately knew that Nurture was the right place for her to begin the next phase of her career.

Prior to these endeavors, Hedy wasn’t always a healthcare practitioner. She majored in economics in her undergraduate years at the University of Rochester, and shortly after began climbing the corporate ladder in Boston. Meanwhile, Hedy was experiencing her own health struggles for which she was unable to find relief through the modern healthcare system. That led to her discovery of Chinese Medicine, and she became thirsty to learn more. After years of feeling somewhat unfulfilled with her corporate career, she left it behind to pursue her degree in acupuncture and herbal medicine. She hasn’t looked back since, as being able to help others has proven to be more gratifying than she could have ever imagined.

Elisabeth Horesh became interested in Chinese medicine after being diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, in her twenties. After deciding to try Chinese medicine rather than typical western treatments, her symptoms completely resolved. Elisabeth founded Nurture in 2014, with the goal of supporting patients in their pursuit of greater health and wellness. As one of only a handful of fellows of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) in the state of Massachusetts, Elisabeth provides comprehensive treatment for a wide range of reproductive and fertility issues in both women and men. This specialization complements a broad range of health issues that she is able to treat.

Elisabeth obtained her undergraduate degree in 2004 from Boston College in English and Environmental Geoscience. After working as an environmental scientist for several years, she returned to school and earned a Masters in Oriental Medicine, graduating from the New England School of Acupuncture. This degree included training in traditional Chinese Acupuncture as well as in Chinese herbal medicine. Following five years as a general practitioner of Chinese Medicine, Elisabeth became Board Certified in Oriental Reproductive Medicine. Elisabeth is passionate about helping women and men in their quest for better health and optimal fertility. She does this by incorporating her background as an environmental scientist with her working knowledge of Chinese medicine to assess and treat all aspects of the patient. In addition to being a lifelong student of Chinese medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, cooking creatively, and spending as much time outside as possible.

Lacey began her career in medicine with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Simmons College. As a nurse, she was drawn to more holistic approaches to healing, and resonated deeply with Complementary and Alternative Medicines. Seeking to enhance her knowledge beyond Western Medicine, she pursued the study of Acupuncture and completed her Masters Degree at the New England School of Acupuncture in 2009. She operated a wellness spa in Brookline, MA for several years, where she offered natural approaches to achieving wellness both inside and out. Continuing her growth in the healing arts, Lacey pursued Physician Assistant Studies at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences University, graduating with a focus in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine. As a Physician Assistant, Lacey saw countless patients with dermatological conditions that were often due to reactions to products in their environment, certain lifestyle practices, or mental-emotional stresses. This reignited her drive to explore treatment approaches that got to the core of health issues, addressed imbalances, and helped redirect the body to heal itself. With this renewed perspective, Lacey sought a return to holistic medicine that was more fulfilling and authentic to her. This is what led her back to the world of Acupuncture, and eventually to Libby and Nurture Whole Health. Lacey is honored to be a part of the Nurture team, where she can use her clinical knowledge and her passion for healing to assist others with their wellness goals. Lacey also enjoys formulating natural skin and body care products for her business BODY & BOTANY, and spending time with her husband and fur babies (including a mini-pig named Simon).
